Why We Started ELARO — A Letter from the Beginning

Some brands start with a business plan. ELARO started with a dog who deserved better.

We'd spent years looking for pet products that felt like they actually belonged in our home — things made with care, from materials we trusted, designed with the same intention we brought to everything else in our lives. We couldn't find them. So we made them.

The Problem We Couldn't Ignore

The pet industry is enormous. And most of it looks the same: bright plastic, synthetic fabrics, products designed to sell rather than to last. We kept asking the same question — why should the things we buy for the animals we love be any different from the things we buy for ourselves?

They shouldn't.

A Different Starting Point

ELARO was built on a simple idea: that pets are part of the home, and the home deserves beautiful, considered things. We looked to Nordic design — not as an aesthetic trend, but as a philosophy. Less, but better. Natural materials. Honest construction. Objects that age well and mean something.

Every product we make starts with that question: would we want this in our own home? If the answer isn't an immediate yes, we go back to the drawing board.

What We're Building

We're not trying to be the biggest pet brand. We're trying to be the most thoughtful one.

That means working with suppliers who share our values. It means choosing materials that are better for animals and for the planet. It means designing things that last years, not seasons. And it means being honest with you — about what we make, how we make it, and why.

This journal is part of that honesty. We'll share the stories behind our products, the people and animals who inspire us, and the ideas that shape how we think about living well with pets.

We're glad you're here.
